Rising from the Ashes
After they launched the Treo Smartphones, the Palm company failed and disappeared from the market. In fact, people would usually bet against the company who oddly enough, was the very one who started the smartphone craze. Palm found itself going against stiff competition such as Appleās iPhone and RIM’s line of BlackBerry device. Instead of surrendering and giving in to defeat, the brave company announced their new Palm Pre phone at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Ever since then, Palm has been generating buzz, despite the Pre not even being available out in the market.
The challenge for Palm was to keep the buzz at a level where consumers are still excited when the Pre is released. With the window closing on the first half of 2009, the company edges closer to completely their comeback and consumers will have a chance to purchase Palm’s new Pre phone. Palm was a company left for dead, but managed to deliver a buzz worthy new product. Once left for dead, Palm appears poised to compete with the likes of RIM and Apple.
The palm Pre is a PDA style phone with a surplus of wonderful functions and features. Its look tells you that it is a phone that serves you and that delivers all your needs. The phone comes with a full QWERTY keyboard so that it really looks like a PDA. It is much easier to use than a standard keypad as found on many other phones. It is there to actually put the other phones to shame.
